Farragut people directories are split among the Town, Knox County, Tennessee agencies, schools, the University of Tennessee, and local history collections. No single list covers everyone. Government and campus directories identify people by a public role. Property and recorded-instrument indexes organize names around land or filed documents. Start with the list that matches the person’s role and time period. A Farragut official is best sought in the Town roster, while a former resident may call for a city directory, phone book, obituary index, or property trail. Farragut lies chiefly in Knox County, but a small part is in Loudon County. County-based indexes must follow the parcel or event jurisdiction, not just the mailing label.

Search Farragut’s Town Directory

The Farragut staff and department directory is free and requires no account. JavaScript renders its entries. Search by first name, last name, or category, or browse department telephone numbers from the landing page. Categories include the Town Administrator, Communications, Finance, Community Development, Engineering, Parks and Recreation, Public Works, Municipal Court, the museum, and the Board of Mayor and Aldermen.

The captured directory shows the official Town interface, which is the cleanest route when the person’s public role is known. A category result may give more context than a broad surname search.

A sample Farragut directory result can contain several distinct fields:

Browse Farragut School Directories

Farragut High School and Farragut Primary School each publish a current campus directory. The High School listing had 276 entries across seven pages when inspected. Its filters include keyword, first name, last name, and department, with 40 entries per page. Results can display the person’s name, payroll or position title, functional department, and a public Knox Schools email when supplied.

The Farragut High staff directory is useful for faculty, coaches, and support roles. A Directory Update link provides a correction route when an entry has changed. The Farragut Primary staff directory uses keyword and name filters. It had 120 entries at 40 per page during inspection and can show name, position or department, and email.

These Farragut directories are school-specific rather than one verified districtwide browse. Search both a full name and a surname fragment, then use the school’s main contact if the person does not appear. A current staff listing should not be treated as an alumni roll or proof that someone attended the school in the past.

Farragut Links to Wider Directories

Some people connected with Farragut work beyond Town offices. The University of Tennessee directory provides a public institutional people search for UT Knoxville. It is the right directory when a name is tied to university teaching, research, administration, or another campus role. University records and special collections are separate systems, so a current directory hit does not search archival manuscripts or past student material.

The state directory capture shows why agency context matters. When only a department is known, follow its directory route first. The General Assembly’s separate A-to-Z browse can list a person’s name, position, House or Senate location, office, and phone.

Farragut Property Owner Directories

The KGIS Maps directory works as a current owner, address, and parcel index for the Knox County part of Farragut. Search modes include Address, Parcel, Owner, Place, and Other. Owner names are stored Last Name First Name, and partial text uses a contains match. A broad surname can hit the 400-result cap, so adding an initial helps narrow the set.

Parcel details can show the owner, address, parcel ID, acreage, deed information, subdivision, ward or district, school zones, and political districts. The assessor adds legal, sales, value, land, building, and mailing facts. For an address search, omit city, state, and ZIP so KGIS can validate the official street address point. A perfect match locates at once; otherwise choose from the candidates.

A Farragut postal label does not prove that land sits within Town limits or Knox County. Check the Farragut boundary and ward layers before choosing an office. KGIS lines are general map guidance, not survey-grade boundaries.

Business and License Name Directories

The Tennessee Business Information Search finds registered entities by business name or control number. A name search can use Begins or Includes, and an Active Businesses Only box narrows the result set. An entity record may show its legal name, control number, entity type and status, formation facts, offices, registered agent, and filing history.

A registered agent receives legal process for the entity. That person is not necessarily the owner or operator. Historical filings can still help connect a Farragut business name with prior addresses or managers. The state index does not necessarily include every sole proprietor, local permit, or trade name, so absence is not proof that a business never operated.

The Tennessee Health Licensure Verification searches by name and place after a profession is selected. It reports primary-source license status and related public profile or discipline data. Tennessee’s wider verification routes cover other regulated fields. Those professional directories answer whether a credential is current; they do not establish a home address or personal tie to Farragut.

Farragut Names in County Indexes

County public records also act like people directories. Deeds, trusts, liens, releases, powers of attorney, and plats can name grantors, grantees, borrowers, and other parties. A grantor transfers an interest, while a grantee receives it. The Knox County Register of Deeds holds records reaching to the late 1700s, but no exact start year for a standalone public web index was verified.

Use KGIS or the assessor to collect an owner name, parcel ID, and deed or plat reference. Then request the recorded instrument from the Register in person or by mail. The Knox County Cross Index Search brings several historic name trails together. Archive indexes cover marriage, divorce, deed, tax, probate, Chancery, Circuit, naturalization, wills and estates, and selected obituary periods. Recent files may remain with the active clerk, while older records move to the Archives or microfilm. That division explains why one web search rarely reaches the whole Farragut name trail.

Farragut City and Phone Directories

The Calvin M. McClung Historical Collection is the main library destination for older Farragut people directories. The Farragut Branch is useful for general library service, but it is not the system’s primary genealogy repository. McClung occupies the East Tennessee History Center in downtown Knoxville and keeps its directory, newspaper, manuscript, map, and county-record resources together.

The Knox County Public Library collection includes the complete Knoxville city-directory run from 1859 to the present and the only Knoxville telephone-directory set from 1898 to the present.

The library capture is the gateway to those local-history resources. City directories are open without a special request. Telephone books are retrieved by the reference desk, so an on-site visit should allow time for staff assistance.

McClung also holds more than 87,000 books, over 25,000 microfilm rolls, and more than 2,000 newspaper rolls. Pair a name-to-address city directory with a later telephone book to bridge years between federal census releases. Reverse sections, where an edition includes them, may convert an address back into an occupant name.

Farragut’s Missing 2009 Directory

The otherwise complete city-directory series has one clear publication gap: no 2009 Knoxville volume was published. A missing Farragut name in that year does not show that the person moved. Check the editions on both sides of the gap, then add the telephone directory, Farragut Press microfilm, property records, or a biography file.

Farragut incorporated in 1980. Earlier people may be filed under Campbell’s Station, Concord, Knoxville, Knox County, a rural route, a church, a cemetery, or a property description. Search those older place names before concluding that a directory has no match.

Farragut Community Memory Directories

The Farragut Museum and Historic Resources can add community context to a name found elsewhere. Museum exhibits cover Campbell’s Station and Concord, early Farragut High School, the Town’s founding, the railroad and marble era, Admiral David Farragut, and the Battle of Campbell’s Station. The History Walk links the museum, Campbell Station Inn, Founders Park Heritage Trail, Admiral Farragut Plaza, and Pleasant Forest Cemetery.

Museum captions, staff knowledge, booklets, and cemetery context may reveal local names, but they do not replace deeds, court files, or certificates. University of Tennessee special collections add photographs, manuscripts, oral histories, maps, and university material. First Families of Tennessee applications at McClung preserve proof for more than 2,500 pioneers, making them evidence files as well as a surname directory.

Knox County’s larger story is survival. The Archives reports that records back to the county’s 1792 founding remain remarkably intact. The Hamilton District Superior Court index reaches 1793 to 1809, while estate settlement books begin in 1792. When a Farragut name disappears from a current directory, the next source may be an archive index, an old locality name, or a paper volume rather than another web search.
